The Engine

Hello, My name is Marcos. A lot of you will probably know me as “Petrified Lasagna” (Big Reveal!). I have been programming for about 7 years, but most of my applications have remained unreleased. That has changed and I have become more present on the web with content that I have created.

Of course, being a lone developer, I have learned almost every aspect of application development. This includes programming, graphic creation, audio engineering and music composition, and much more.

My passion was first conceived shortly after trying Nintendo’s WarioWare D.I.Y. So in a way I can thank game developers for giving me the drive to become a game developer! After that, I went on to Basic, and then moved onto C/C++.

One thing that I have learned in all the time that I have been pursuing my career is that anything is possible, as long as you are willing to put the effort. In fact, at the time of this writing, I am learning how to import the 3D models which is a concept that I have been avoiding for years, because of how complicated it originally seemed.

To all of those budding developers, my one piece of advice is to start small. Like with the 3D models, I started with just getting each individual point to be drawn on the screen, and am moving onto rendering the polygons as a whole. By setting small goals, you will not only stay better motivated, but you will also avoid major bugs in the long run.
